My Motivation to Online success has returned

Tuesday 14 October 2008 @ 8:37 am

I’m baaaaack!

Finally, I have managed to stuff my lack of motivation back in the closet, the sites I have that are still active are getting a freshen up, some that are basically dead are going to get their heart restarted, and a new site is being born at present.

I’m back, and it’s time to get that $50 a day goal happening.

Although I’m not entirely sure how I will do that yet, much has changed in the time I have been “idle”, much to read, lots to relearn, and perhaps old friends to look up.

One hell of a year

Tuesday 19 August 2008 @ 11:38 am

It’s been one hell of a year. Much has happened in my personal life and I have been completely ignoring the online world. It’s time for me to get back to what I do best and get back to work.

Along the way I have lost a few sites due to not renewing their domain registrations, the rest have been completely ignored, and yet they still generate some revenue each month. I’m only making about $200 US$ a month from my sites at present.

I know I am terrible at writing, but I will try and keep this place updated.

What to do?

Tuesday 24 July 2007 @ 4:05 pm

So most of my sites have been up and stable for a month or so, well at least the ones that don’t require a database.

The hard disk drive in my server that holds the databases has developed a problem and with me not having good access to the net it was sometime before I discovered that all my database run sites were down again.

I have fixed them all except for the one that was living on the bad sectors of the drive, I’ll have to reimport that one.

Turning things around

Friday 29 June 2007 @ 4:37 pm

So for the last few days I’ve been working on turning things around. Part of doing that is working out what exactly I have coming in, with the hope that there is enough to perhaps afford some advertising or similar to help get things moving.

The numbers have been crunched, and its not looking that good. After the basic expenses I have $106 dollars a week left to cover food, petrol, the credit card bill ($7,000) and any non regular bill like registration, car insurance etc.

Looking back

Tuesday 26 June 2007 @ 6:47 pm

Looking back on the last 6 or 7 months it definately hasn’t been a good time. Yes my wife stopped working, she loves it, unfortunately what she didnt love was just how much time I spent working.

Our relationship spiraled downwards, I spent less and less time working, and more and more time playing a MMORPG. (Escaping the bad situation at home). Unfortunately it only made things worse, and I, at the time, didn’t care.

The less I worked, the less I made, the less I made the harder it became to pay the bills. The money was flowing out faster than I was making it, our savings got eaten, the credit card got maxed.

Today is the last day my Wife goes to work.

Wednesday 29 November 2006 @ 8:50 am

Today my wife “retires”. Not because she has reached the age at which people normally retire, rather she is retiring because she wants to spend more time with our children.

We can afford to do this because of the income generated by our websites. We are doing some cost cutting (like giving up my office in town), but the main motivation behind that is to ensure the cash flow is there to put back into the business and make it grow even more.

Did I reach my goal?

Friday 27 October 2006 @ 9:42 am

The simple answer is no I didn’t, but I’ve learned a lot along the way and I am well on my way to reaching that goal, it’s just going to take a bit longer.

I know it’s been a while since I last wrote anything here, but I’ve been so busy building my empire that I just haven’t bothered to spend the time to get my thoughts in order.

I’ll try and post a bit more often.

New MySpace Site and Expanded Challenge

Wednesday 21 June 2006 @ 2:05 am

Yesterday I opened a new MySpace site, I wasn’t planning too, but I came across a fantastic script and so I thought I would invest in a copy.

Then I decided I’d see how long it took to make it’s money back, so I set it up under a new domain name.

So that Stats are:

Cost of Script: $147.00

Cost of Domain Name: $7.20

Cost of Hosting: $0.00 (Just another site on my Server)

Total Cost: $154.20

Release Date: 19th June 2006 (By my Server, 20th for me)

Another new Site

Friday 16 June 2006 @ 10:23 am

I didn’t make this one, it was just too good to pass up.

So I bought another anonymous proxy site, $100, PR5, reasonable traffic, good domain name. I haven’t done anything with it yet. It’s not been in my posession for 24 hours as yet and it has already made about a buck.

Some of the traffic is lacking for the site too, the DNS hasn’t fully updated yet, so some places are still seeing the old site.

I’m figuring I can probably ramp this site up enough to get the cost back within 6 weeks.

More New Sites

Monday 12 June 2006 @ 12:54 am

I did some AdSense research a little while back and decided to throw a MySpace resource site up, I did it real quick and it definately needs a lot of work, I just don’t have the time to work on it a lot at the moment. Anyhow if your interested, you can visit it, My Space Resource Site.

About a year ago I aquired the domain name GodThatsFunny.com with the intention of putting up a funny video/picture site, it just sat there doing nothing, and then recently I aquired a license to use a funny video/picture script as part of another deal, so My Funny Video/Image Site went online.
