NxE’s 50 Most Influential Bloggers

Wednesday 12 September 2007 @ 3:00 pm

I came across this today, and no I’m not one of the 50, that is something I will never be.

While reading through the list I noticed that I read very few of the blogs done by these people, and had heard of a few more. Perhaps I just don’t move in the same circles I thought, but then when you look at the list a lot of them are tech/earn money from the net kind of people.

I will have to go through the list and check them all out and see what worth reading, if you haven’t seen the list then head on over and have a read (http://northxeast.com/blogging/nxes-fifty-most-influential-bloggers/)

Offline Online Working

Tuesday 21 August 2007 @ 1:22 pm

For sometime now I have been an offline online worker.

Sounds like a contradiction I know, but essentially I have no Internet access from where I am living, so I have to do everything offline and then when I get near somewhere that has net access upload it all.

It’s difficult at times, I can’t just go and google something, but in other respects its great.

I am sure everyone has suffered from Internet wandering syndrome. Just wandering around reading sites, checking out the latest and greatest. I know I used to do it a lot, its a great way to waste your time.

The beginning of the end….

Monday 18 June 2007 @ 11:54 am

Well if your a regular visitor to any of my sites, or perhaps a reader of my blog you’ll have noticed the lack of posts, sites going up and down like yoyo’s, and many other weird things for a while now.

Some of my sites are backup, and should now stay up. Others well, they are down and will probably not return in the form that they were.

Over the next few days/week I will be posting a series of entries here that will explain what has been going on, and it will have a few important lessons in it so make sure you drop in and read it all.

Domaining and poorly performing Domain Names

Monday 12 June 2006 @ 2:30 am

Cesar over at fleethecube reports that he has had some success at Domaining (buying the right names and parking them at a site that pays (CPC) for the traffic that arrives via them).

Cesar mentioned that he has some poorly performing domains that he will probably allow to expire. To me these domains could be a profit centre, so if anyone has a bunch of domain names that aren’t performing and they are willing to sell them instead of letting them expire then let me know!

Finally Some Updates

Sunday 21 May 2006 @ 1:30 am

It’s been a while since I posted anything to this site, and I don’t haveĀ  any deadlines to meet tonite so I am finally getting around to writing some new posts.

This is a general update on where things are and then I’ll do a few more posts on specific items I want to cover.

Website Publishers Project

Monday 20 March 2006 @ 10:06 am

Behind the scenes I have been busily working away on this project, so if you haven’t heard back from me for a while then this is probably why.

I have just finished migrating to a new faster server with far more bandwidth than the previous one, as part of this project I am prepared to offer space on this server to New Zealand based website publishers who are just starting out.

Of course there will be some terms and conditions on this free service, but they will be pretty much what any hosting provider would have.

Software Upgrade

Sunday 12 March 2006 @ 10:27 pm

Well I’ve been very busy upgrading quite a few of my sites, everyone seems to be releasing news versions at the same time.

Anyway, When I upgraded this site last night I made a mistake in a template (or two) and all the comments and the ability to leave comments disappeared. It’s all fixed now, sorry about that!

$700 Million for Trademe

Tuesday 7 March 2006 @ 9:11 pm

If your not from New Zealand then I doubt you will have ever heard for Trademe, it’s our version of eBay only better. We have eBay as well, but almost no one uses it.

Anyway, Trademe was just sold by it’s founders, for $700 Million!

I don’t need 100,00 people to clear this nations deficit, all I need is a few Sam Morgan’s (Founder of Trademe).

So come on get to it, we can do this!

RIP: Me! and my Sites?!?

Saturday 4 March 2006 @ 12:59 am

No, I’m not writing this from beyond the grave, recently I have been doing a bit of thinking on what would happen if I died, not that I plan to die, but you never know.

I have a young family and my online earnings are starting to become a serious part of our income. My partner knows what I do, but she doesn’t know all the nitty gritty, to be perfectly honest she is not that interested (except for the money each month).

AdSense Reports

Friday 3 March 2006 @ 9:32 am

I just noticed there has been an update to the AdSense reporting system, you can now see on your reports when your displaying CPM advertising and how much it is making you.

You need to select individual ad unit in the advanced reporting screen to get these reports. Way to go Google that is something I have been wanting to see for ages.
