Finding hidden revenue

If your like me you try various new revenue sources when they open or when you qualify for them, and probably like me, some of them work for you and some don’t.

So after a while the ones that aren’t working get dropped from your sites, or perhaps pushed down the site so that you forget your running them, or because they don’t perform you stop checking them for anything earned.

Today might just be a good day to go over every advertising site/program you have ever used and check your account balances, I did that this morning and found several hundred dollars in various programs that is due to be paid (but lacking payment information), or is very close to hitting the minimum payment threshold.

Obviously there are questions that needs to be asked, if there is a few hundred dollars sitting there, why did I stop using them, how did the balances grow, and so on.

There are several reasons for the revenue being there.

  • Some is from referrals

  • Some is from residual payments

  • Some is from poorly performing advertising that has slowly built up

  • Some is from ???. I have no idea, but I suspect its from cached copies of pages in the Internet Archive or Google, because I am definately not running advertising for those Companies on any of my sites and haven’t been for a number of months.

For some of the advertisers I will be looking at them again to decide if I should move them back up the site to more profitable locations, and in the case of at least one site I will start to use them again.

So what are you waiting for get out there and check your old advertisers you might just find a nice Christmas bonus waiting for you!
