There are choices to be made, do you want to earn money writing blogs? Do you want to earn money being a webmaster, web designer, online programmer?
I’ve decided my true niche is webmaster/techy. So now I need some web properties that are going to generate some revenue. Here I also have choices, buy or build.
I decided to do both, I have a couple I have built, and a few I have bought.
I’ve decided that I’m not a problogger, I was never any good at writing anyway. That doesn’t mean that I’m giving up on my blogs, I am still going to continue with them, and one of these days I will get even this site up to date.
I hit a milestone yesterday….
Yesterday was the first day that I hit over $5 in AdSense revenue. I’ve been edging closer and closer and yesterday I hit it, actually I killed it. ($6.84)
Yes I know, it’s not enough to live on, but I’m starting to see some return on my time and money investment.
I have also been experimenting with some other ad networks, I’ll talk more about them soon, and I really do mean it. I’ll write up all these things I have been up to.
I’m a happy little vegimite, as happy as can be… (If your not an aussie or a kiwi this probably means nothing to you!)
Anyway I just heard about Google Blog Search, and of course I had to go and have a look, and what did I search for? “Work Online” of course, and I’m the first result.
WooHoo
See here, I amazed. I probably won’t be on top for long, but I’m happy at the moment.
I’ve gone and got myself another new site, only this time I’m not starting from scratch, I bought it.
The site doesn’t currently generate much revenue, but it has good traffic with lots of potential. It’s not a blog, but has a blog related function.
Ok so I’m lacking motivation to update this site, thats probably because everyone here has been down with the flu, and I’m also very busy at the moment.
I currently owe you all 2 backdated weekly reports and 1 monthly report, plus various other posts I’ve been planning to make.
The reports take a bit of time to put together, and I’m planning on changing them slightly to give a better indication of where my spending is going and where the income is being generated.
I’m planning on doing a mega update on the site tomorrow, in the meantime I have a problem I’m trying to figure out, perhaps you can help?
Up until now I have been accounting for income in the week it was earned, ie If I made $5.00 from Google Adsense this week, I put it down as income from this week, even though I haven’t received it.
Now this works pretty well, and is fairly accurate, but recently I have been doing some consulting online, this has spanned multiple weeks and while the work is done, and the price agreed. I haven’t received payment in the week the work was done.
