It has been an amazing week, and I apologise for not posting more often. My only excuse is that I have been busy building my income.
I’ve spent more time this week creating some plugins for wordpress that give me the functionality that I need. Once they have enough polish on them I will release them on this site.
The other big thing I have done this week is start pushing my new project site. I decided to use both blogexplosion.com, and paid text ad’s to start getting traffic to my site.
The speciality of this site is very popular on Google, which means good money on click thru’s, however it also makes it difficult to get a high rank on the keywords. (Thats next weeks task)
Anyway I spent $30 for a few months display of a text ad on a high traffic/profile site, that has been going reasonably well, blogexplosion on the other hand is finding the wheat in the chaff type affair. Most people who came to the site stayed only for the required 30 seconds and then left, but a few stayed around, had a good look and even blogmarked me.
The one good thing about blogexplosion is that it put me up further on blogtopsites, which also got me a number of visitors from there, these visitors are probably more interested in the subject matter.
I’m not sure how they found me, but a user on a forum found my site and posted it on their forum, the result was a surge in traffic, length of stay, and also click thru’s.
It just goes to show how an single link in the right place can really help.

As you can see from the graph above, there was no traffic until the 8th at which point people came and left pretty quickly (blogexplosion). The 9th to the 12th are the start of traffic from the text link, with more page views per visitor.
Over the weekend things were pretty quiet, I wasn’t posting and people were not visiting, until bang on the 14th traffic started to build, and the number of page views per visitor went thru the roof, this pattern continued into the next week.
Income this week was down, due partly because one of my older sites did not do well this week, most of the money earned this week has come from my new main project site, I’m amazed at the potential it is showing, far better than I expected.
Stats:
Sites Online: 6 $ Spent: $42.30 (nzd$) [30.00 usd$] $ Earned: $7.49 (nzd$) [5.31 usd$] $ Total Income: (-$34.81 nzd$)
Updated: Changed the figures above because I entered the wrong amount for the amount earned.
