Over the last couple of days I have been creating content for my site and visiting the relevant pages after publishing them to see how they look and also get the adsense bot to visit them.
I thought this was a great idea, I couldn’t of been more wrong.
My site is now littered with ad’s for sql reporting tools, sql server 2000, and even mysql.
My site is displaying these ad’s because due to a plugin I had installed and activated when the google adsense bot checked the page it got a fatal error from the site about connecting to the db, but only as an anonymous users.
I have no idea how I can fix this, other than wait for the adsense bot to come back and look at the pages again.
I hope it does that soon!
So always ensure your content pages are displaying correctly before inserting adsense code.

Are you running your own web server or are you just going through a hosting service? I am just getting started with blogging. I started one about 1.5 years ago but I was trying to get out of school etc and just let it die so now I am starting over. I like the idea of your blog, but I noticed that your entries or very few seem to have links to articles that may go into more detail. I think there is a big niche for your topic. I will bookmark and wait for your site to blossom.
Good Luck!

Hi Tim,
I’m running my own server. Well it’s not mine, I rent it from a hosting company, but I basically “own” it. (ie full root access, install what I want etc)
I have been a bit lax on writing detailed content for this site, I have been very busy with everything else. I keep telling myself I should do it as I complete things, but I usually complete something at 2am and just can’t be bothered writing something at that time.
I’ll try and ensure I keep the site updated more often with more detail etc.
Thanks,
Drew
